What does the program cost?

Kidznotes is a program free of charge and requires a high time commitment from participating students and families. We encourage you to consider this commitment before submitting your application. Regular attendance is required. We provide the music, instruments and instruction at no cost to families.

How do I enroll my child in Kidznotes?

Where do classes take place?

Currently, our program operates in Durham at Eastway Elementary, Maureen Joy Charter School, Sandy Ridge Elementary, and Y.E. Smith Elementary. Our nucleo, or program center, is located at the Holton Career and Resource Center (401 N. Driver St. Durham, NC 27703).

In Raleigh, we operate in East Garner Elementary, Poe Elementary, Walnut Creek Elementary, Bugg Elementary, and PAVE Academy with East Garner (5545 Jones Sausage Rd, Garner, NC 27529) serving as the nucleo location for Saturday rehearsals.

What days will my child attend classes?

Will my child also attend outside concerts?

A variety of concerts will be going on throughout the year. Kidznotes families are welcome to attend any concert regardless of your child’s participation. You will receive these dates as they are scheduled, and are subject to change as the year progresses.

Will I need to provide transportation for my child?

Yes. While Kidznotes works with Durham Public Schools and Wake County Public Schools to provide bus transportation to class after school as well as to outside events, there will be times that you will be responsible for dropping off and picking up your child.

How can I become involved with Kidznotes as a parent?

Kidznotes families are invited to attend rehearsal sessions and performances, accompany children on field trips, meet with program staff, and even volunteer in the program.
