We depend on great volunteers to help our faculty in the classroom as well as our staff during office hours. These individuals make all the difference in creating a meaningful Kidznotes experience for all of our students. We welcome volunteers in high school or above, and from any area of expertise.
There are 3 easy steps to become a volunteer with Kidznotes:
- Fill out our online application.
- Complete the volunteer registration and background check with either DPS or WPCSS.
- Review and sign our volunteer expectations and bring with you on your first day of volunteering.
Once you’ve completed these steps, Kidznotes will follow up with you to confirm your first day with us. Not tech savvy? No problem! Please call Tiffany Walker at 919-321-4475 and she will take down your information and talk you through the process.
No musical knowledge is required for volunteers who would like to assist our teachers in this capacity. A love and appreciation for music, and of course kids, is all you need. These volunteers help teachers with snack time, bathroom and water breaks, distribution of materials and other basic tasks.
If you play an instrument, we need you to help with our small ensembles and on Saturdays by playing along with students. Volunteers in this position should bring their instrument when volunteering and can expect to help students with fingerings, bowings, intonation, and rhythm while playing.
Office Projects Assistant
Individuals with any skill set are encouraged to help out in the Kidznotes office. Several times a year we will need help with our large donor and gala invitation mailings which require all hands on deck! Throughout the year we can use people for filing, data entry, document collation, and other office tasks. If you have a specific skill set such as grant writing or communications, please let our Operations Manager know in your application.
