Jimmy is an avid activist, administrator, educator, and performer new to the Piedmont Triad. He pushes for equity, accessibility, and a welcoming environment within music for young students. Ensuring a positive, safe, and enriching environment for students is what is strived for as Program Assistant for Kidznotes. 

As an administrator, Jimmy has served as Program Manager for Together for Brothers and Deconstructing Racism New Mexico. In these positions, he oversaw creating connections with the community members of Albuquerque, self-identified boys and young men of color, and the board members and partners. As an educator, he has served as Instructor of Flute for the University of New Mexico Music Prep School, a university and school district led program that provided no cost lessons to students at low-income middle and high schools. Providing lessons to over 20 students within his two-year tenure. Jimmy holds a Bachelor of Music in Performance degree from the University of Northern Colorado and his Master of Music in Performance and his Graduate Certificate in Performance from the University of New Mexico. While at the University of New Mexico, he held a Graduate Assistant position where he served as flutist in the Enchantment Wind Quintet and as Assistant to the College of Fine Arts Graduate Coordinator. 

Jimmy was drawn to North Carolina's abundance of nature and support for music and fine arts. During his free time, Jimmy spends time visiting local coffee shops all throughout North Carolina or spending time with his fiancé and their cat, Poppy.
