Angie Pegram
Director of Development | 1st year
Angie Pegram joined Kidznotes in 2025 as Director of Development, bringing a lifelong passion for music education, community engagement, and the transformative power of the arts. A music educator at heart, Angie believes deeply in the ability of music to foster belonging, confidence, and purpose—values that continue to guide her leadership in philanthropy.
Before joining Kidznotes, Angie served with the United Methodist Retirement Homes (UMRH) as Development Specialist, Executive Assistant, and Office Manager, where she played a key role in advancing the organization’s philanthropic mission. She led donor stewardship initiatives, managed annual giving campaigns, coordinated special fundraising events, and served as Secretary and Board Liaison to both the UMRH and UMRH Foundation Boards of Trustees. Angie oversaw donor relations, communications, and compliance efforts, helping to strengthen engagement and sustain meaningful connections across the organization’s communities across North Carolina. Her work reflected a deep commitment to relationship-based fundraising and mission-centered leadership.
Prior to her transition into nonprofit development, Angie spent nearly a decade as the Director of Choral Activities at Cedar Ridge High School in Hillsborough, NC. Under her direction, the choral program earned recognition at both the state and national levels, known for its artistry, collaboration, and community partnerships. Angie continues to see herself as a music educator and advocate, dedicated to ensuring all young people have access to the life-changing experience of music.
Angie holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Western Carolina University, graduating summa cum laude from the Honors College in 2012. She remains active in the choral community as a member of the Choral Society of Durham, its Chamber Choir, and the Vocal Arts Ensemble of Durham, performing regularly at Duke Chapel and the surrounding community.
Beyond her professional work, Angie is a proud advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and social justice causes. She lives in Durham, North Carolina, with her fiancée, Mackenzie, and their two dogs, Winnie and Peanut.
