Introducing the Saturday Academy

Saturdays are for:

There’s a new way for your child to spend their Saturday morning. Our Saturday Academy program helps them learn about music while building their confidence and social skills, too. Sign up today—spaces are limited.

  • Open to students age 6 to 8 from any school

  • Maximum class size of 12 students

  • More affordable than private lessons

What is the Saturday Academy?

The Saturday Academy is an extension of our Mozart Program. During each 10-week session, students can take up to two music classes on Saturday mornings. But music isn’t the only thing we’ll be working on—each course blends music instruction with social-emotional learning (SEL) and executive function skill-building. This isn’t a stuffy music lesson. It’s a joy-filled opportunity.

All classes are 1-hour long in a small group setting with no more than 12 students. At the end of each session, students will be able to share and celebrate their progress with friends and family.

The Impact of Early Music Education

  • Supports early school readiness

    Music and play help build executive functions that are foundational for school readiness, including working memory, inhibitory control, and cognitive flexibility.

  • Engages multiple brain regions simultaneously

    Music engages the auditory, motor, visual, and emotional regions of the brain which can can help improve cognitive functioning.

  • Develops auditory discrimination and phonological awareness

    Your child will develop the skills of hearing the difference between sounds and using sounds as building blocks to read words and music, both of which are critical for early literacy.

  • Improves self-confidence and persistence

    Your child will be in a safe, nurturing, and community-focused environment based on the El Sistema model where they can hone their music and social skills and thrive.

How It Works

  1. Enroll your child. We recommend signing up early as each session is limited to 60 budding musicians.

  2. Select classes. Choose from violin, piano, percussion, choir. Classes will be no more than 12 students.

  3. Join us every Saturday during the 10-week session.

    Fall Session: October 4 - December 13, 2025
    Spring Session: January 10 - March 14, 2026
