Carson Mooring
Teaching Artist - General Music Program Assistant
2026-2027 Classes: Nucleo General Music
Carson Mooring is a Music Educator who taught in public schools for three years and grew up in Orange County, North Carolina, where she developed a passion for helping students discover their musical abilities and build confidence through music. She earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in Music Performance and Music Education from Western Carolina University in December 2023, where she focused her studies on vocal performance and music education. Carson has experience working with students of all ages and backgrounds, with a particular focus on children and teenagers. Her teaching experience spans private instruction, general music, choral music, musical theatre, and classroom education.
Through these experiences, Carson has developed an adaptable and student-centered teaching approach that meets students where they are while encouraging them to challenge themselves and continue growing as musicians. She draws on her own experiences as a performer to help students develop not only their musical skills, but also their confidence and willingness to take creative risks. At the heart of Carson’s teaching philosophy is the belief that music should be both meaningful and accessible. She strives to create a positive, encouraging, and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable exploring their abilities, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress. Whether a student is preparing for a performance, learning an instrument for the first time, or simply looking for a creative outlet, Carson works to help each student develop a lifelong appreciation for music and the confidence to share it with others.
When she isn’t teaching or performing, Carson enjoys spending time in the mountains and at the beach, taking walks with her dogs, and baking delicious treats. She shares her home with four beloved fur babies who keep life exciting, fun, and full of adventure!
