2026-2027 Classes: Percussion, All Levels

Kyle Wilson joined Kidznotes in the Fall of 2026 and is a percussionist, educator, and arranger based in Durham, North Carolina. He holds a Master of Music in Percussion Performance from Lee University (2025), where he served as a Graduate Assistant and was named a recipient of the Phillip Thomas Orchestra Scholarship, and a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (2022), where he received the Young Artist Scholarship. His primary teachers have included Dr. Andy Harnsberger, Thomas Hurst, Dr. Amy Xin Yin, Dr. Eric Willie, and Peter Zlotnick.

As a performer, Kyle has appeared as Acting Principal Percussion with the Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra and served as Principal Percussionist for Marble City Opera's world premiere of Doctors and the Devils by Jason Overall. His chamber music work includes performances with the Lee University and UNCG Percussion Ensembles, including a showcase performance at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC, 2021) as part of the International Percussion Ensemble Competition. He has premiered works by composers including Madeline Fowler and Jhon Ciro, and his arrangements — spanning composers from Claude Debussy to Joe Hisashi — have been performed for marimba, vibraphone, and xylophone in a variety of chamber configurations.

Kyle is equally active as an educator, currently serving as Front Ensemble and Drum Technician at Clayton High School, where he composes original technique exercises and the percussion book for the marching program, and has held similar roles at Triton, Cedar Ridge, and South East Guilford High Schools. He has taught percussion privately through his own studio, tutored music theory and aural skills at the collegiate level, and spent multiple summers on staff at the UNCG Summer Music Camp. He has also led masterclasses at UNCG and Clayton High School on the theme "The Problems of Practice."
